Pittsburg, Kansas | Voice of experience talking here.
Wife and I have never regretted it. But we had lives other than farming before we quit.
I didn't think I was under any stress. We had the best group of employees we had ever had. Operation was running basically on its own while wife and I claimed 75% retirement. We traveled. We had the world by the tail.
But I couldn't believe the weight that came off my shoulders when the sale was over and the checks written to pay off the several loans and there was a pile of cash in the bank.
I felt like a new man. I thought I had no stress till the stress evaporated and I felt like I did without it.
