Paid by the pound. More structure underneath the more weight you can add. Big stout rugged cattle generally add more pounds more efficiently than narrower made lighter structured cattle.

Hence why the big stout rugged bulls command a premium.



You bet 'you' are paid by the pound.
Also bet that susie q homemaker doesn't like buying bone.

Sorta means that if you're working hard to 'make' more bone that you're not really working for your actual client.
I'd also take it that you don't raise any dairy type animals.
