MB, Canada | I've no doubt you have your numbers figured (and particularly in your climate) as a feeder but I was referring to cow/calf operations that try to emulate the confined, high input (by necessity) feeder model and wonder why they can't make money. There are a lot of times us cow/calf producers tend to overcomplicate things when what we really need to do is get good at grazing and putting up a bunch of medium quality feed to be distributed as cheaply and effectively as possible. I should have been more clear on the industry I was referring to. | |
