Think about it. I don't know what rpm's the rotors run at, but lets say it it 2000 if you run at pto speed, if you slow your rpm's down and shift up a gear to keep your speed how does that not create less wear. You maybe running 25% less rpm's on your machine, so to me that sounds like less wear on your machine. Not to mention the benefit in light crop when the rpm's are slower.
