off the topic of insulation but not really either. Our Morton machine shed was put up in 1976, not much was thought about heating it then. Along came severe hail storm and we had the roof replaced. Now have more than enough hailed on roofing to line the underside of the trusses. I asked Morton salesman if the trusses would stand the weight of the old roofing nailed to the bottom of the trusses then blown in insulation. He said no. Trusses would not hold the additional weight. Got any ideas on beafing up the present trusses so they would be able to hold that additional weight? Be nice to line the ceiling and sides and insulating. Only alternative is poly spray insulation, 'name called here', as we did in the Butler all steel shop in 1985. After the foam was sprayed then, we topcoated with white latex paint. The foam drank the paint by the buckets but it still looks good where I haven't ran into the roof with excavator or backhoe. We had an inch sprayed on the steel, for $1 sq ft coverage, got about an 1 1/2 after it foamed up. Now, have a gun and most of the system to spray the poly foam ourself, but would rather have steel lined under those trusses.
