Central IL | not yet. I won't have beans in my rotation next year, but given this years experience, next time I will try them on the splitters even though many say they make no difference. From this year splitting the rows, I wasn't happy with still standing stalks going in the head. (along with some dirt and rootballs)
This could be addressed in other ways as well. I know some use rollers on beans, that would be a solution but I don't want another trip across the no till field.
Something else could knock them out of the way as well, a bar on the front of the planter or something?
They also caused me headaches knocking the drive chains off the planter as well.
Unless I go back to planting across the stalk rows, I need to do something.
EDIT: I didn't really utilize the cleaners on the front rows either, they were set all the way up, mostly out of the way. Next time they'll be lower.
