| Around here its all airplanes. I haven't seen helicopters for 10 years or more. Problem with helicopters was they couldn't carry the load of a plane and had to land and refill frequently. Airplane companies are really consolidating too and have lost a lot of business to all the high clearance, wide boom sprayers (commercial and farmer owned) that are around. It seems that the crop dusters are surviving on vegetables, mosquitos, and gypsy moths, and more recently cover crop. BTW aerial seeding cover crops was started here in the late 90's by the Upper Eastern Shore Tributary Strategy team with Chesapeake Bay Restoration Funds so you should be able to find some money somewhere. | |
