Subject: Flying on wheat question...

Mid Michigan
Has anybody out there flown on any wheat this year on the soybean fields? Our beans are just starting to turn yellow and I was going to see how much it costs to have this done. Sure seems like it could save a lot of time and tillage. I have seen guys do it around here once in a while but never knew how much it costs per acre. Do they supply the seed or do you supply it yourself? We usually drill it on ourself but was curious as to how this works. Looked in our old garage where dad writes down crop stuff on the wall. In the year 2000 we averaged 65.7 bushels to the acre on our wheat . This year it was flooded and weedy and averaged 27.5. What a difference that wet year made for us last fall. Thanks for any info and replies.
