I was reading a website about "direct seeding" as John W mentions from time to time. It was in washington state, and likely older news, but I did like one drill that had a way to place the starter mix directly below the seed. I'd think in grass that would the place to put it if a guy could make the machine so it did'nt leave an air pocket along with it. I'm learning more about these "zones" and building zones for the row. I think on wide space grass a proper built zone would be of great benefit.
Not sure what mix to use just yet. Likely will depend on soil samples...........and cost.
ps: I may be looking for a used 1890 deere. | |
