Missouri
While might not understand everything, will offer that here, we violate a rule that says, breed hef so they calve 30 days before the cows. We start the cows 30 days before the 1st calf hef. That gets about 50% of the crop on the ground before, the problems start. Lets me get warmed up mentally, and gets the problems to better weather. These calves are identified with white tags and first to be weaned. White tags are also put in grama cows/calves which need sold early. Works here, not recommended in the books. I would not want to give up preconditioning program quick, helps to combine with a marketing program. Laugh at being able to remember calving problems and weights over 15 years, that is good. Just get more cows, will help one to forget about the past.
