| I think the basis sale in late Oct would have been better than basis sale in Dec. Less storage cost would have offset the wider Jul basis set. I have done both. Sold some at harvest because of the basis, luckily did not get replaced with futures or calls. I also have/had some that I did a basis contract on later, guess I like pain. We had a wind/hail storm in July that most likely will be 2nd best marketing plan this year. I did have some bushels hedged that will no doubt be the best plan for 2023 crop. I also have a white corn contract that may be short, one of those cases where a conservative percent was too much.
