Beating ourselves up over missed opportunities, I'm not sure "complacent" is the right term without remembering the era we just lived through for context. My tire dealer's prices raising 10-12% three consecutive months after already large increases, homes going on the market and selling the same week for $20,000 above asking price, tractors that would have brought $100,000 in 2020 auctioning for $180,000, - etc. etc. All of this immediately on the heels of shutting the world down, $3.30 corn, $1.29 gasoline.
It's been a long time since there was a stable point to measure from. |
