This is what sickens me more than anything else about farming. I want the 1-1500 acre farms back. Church pews full, a school in every town of 500 or so and new businesses starting.

Auto steer started killing the small towns and now continued consolidation is burying them. It’s sad sad thing to watch communities go under and long term families leave for the big town.

I struggle keeping up with all the small town schools consolidating and churches closing. Nobody donated to town stuff anymore. Why should they the guys with the dollars live at the lake and Arizona.

No this isn’t jealousy I just miss the community I grew up in



Any advancement may not have helped with consolidation but the previous generation holding on to all the decisions too long or not letting the next generation into the farm before they were well onto their way in a new career/business has killed more operations than any of them.
