Subject: Re: Is RTK really necessary?

North west MN
Last year I bought a used Trimble base station for $7500 and now this year I need another one for another farm 12 miles away from my current base and a new one is going to cost me $12,995. I have some friends that farm in the same areas I do and they are thinking about renting signals from the 2 base stations. I have become a little spoiled with fixed RTK base stations and would not want to go back. Your ab lines are alway there in the same place and you have full accuracy a few minutes after you turn it on.
