Iowa | Part of my reasoning for buying some land this year that I could afford is because they way I see AG moving is we will become something close to the feudal system. Most of the land coming up for sale in this area the last few years is non farm heirs selling off. Its seems like only the larger well established farmers or large corps can afford it. Most of the guys my age farming own little land and rent from these larger corps. Most of the corps own the land for manure purposes and now also charge the tenants for manure as well as rent... | |
