Subject: Freedom.

Farmers have something you cannot sell or buy.    Their freedom and  independence, that is why they farm.  Now some do it more for the money, but I believe most do it for the independence and freedom.  I know people who break even farming just so they don't have to go to a regular job.  Now how can you take someone like that and hitch them to another person who wants their freedom also?

Trying to yoke 2 or more people who want different things.

I believe farmers can work together on a limited basis when there are clear understands on how it will work.  Harvest for example.  Have seen it done many times, but to yoke them together all year would be a disaster.

I admire families around here with brothers or sisters that all farm as one organization.  Seldom done, but it does happen.  I am sure it takes a good father who keeps things in control, esp. until the boys grow up a little and see that they will all be better off if each gives a little.
