We just stack at the edge of the field and then move them to storage with 53 ft drop deck trailers. I don't think it would be very efficient to move 12 bales at a time if it was more than about a mile.
We did have some trouble with high hydraulic pressures and temperatures but seems to happen only when it is really dry. Hesston sent us cheese grater style thingys to install in the bale chamber for next year. Third cut alfalfa and second timothy should be no problem and we only have 6-8 quarters of thet left this year. One the old 4900s we used checker plate about 3ft x 3 ft in the back side doors to lower the pressure and form a better bale. Dan...
