Mine baled hay right out of the box except for the bale length adjustment arm. It had to be shimmed so it would fall all the way back down when it was tripped.
I don't understand how Josh's got out of time........did it jump a tooth?

Mine pretty much did too, had 2 mis-ties on the first bale but after that, no the only issue I had was the stuffer, and I mostly blame that on the fact that I was baling very high moisture cereal silage.

I think the chain had to skip, but there is no damage to the sprocket teeth nor the chain. The teeth still have all the paint on them!

There was about 2.5" of play in the chain, and the books says there should be 1.97", the dealer swears there would have to be at least 10" in order for that chain to jump, and especially by that much.

Somehow, it jumped. I heard several rapid-fire banging from the cab and instantly hit the PTO, assuming I had picked up a rock. After that, it wouldn't stuff properly.
