The manual on this truck calls for a 6000 mile oil change interval.  At 2500 miles the change oil mesage has come on. I called dealer today to ask what they were doing on oil changes and they said they were still pushing 2500 to 3000 mile changes. Makes sense because it's good money in them selling oil and filters. I have always used the 2500 mile interval but thinking about extending the change out some with the book now saying 6000. The 6000 mile interval is the only oil change interval they show now. They use to show different intervals for how you were using the truck. This truck is used as a car and stays on the hwy.

  I just wondered what some others were doing with these newer trucks on oil changes. This truck has the 4.7 and holds 6 qts of 5w-20. If you do extend the oil out close to this 6000 mile interval would you go ahead and do this first change at the 2500 to 3000 range?
