You can apply the same x product times x markup = x dollars to ag with the same results....it works as long as your markup leaves you at or below the market price so everything sells, but if you mark something up past what he elasticity of demand will tolerate, your revenue goes down rather then up. 

The only difference between ag commodities and any other industry is the eD and eS, the market works the same on everything.
