BUT...there is a chance Dick. There is a chance that something that you or I don't see can & will impact our fragile corn/bean/wheat markets. Someone will declare war...someone will declare an embargo...something can happen. I'm sure you know there is NO guarantee on next yrs commodity prices, unless you sell today. Then there's no guarantee you can deliver. Ask the guys that grew wheat (but didn't harvest) up in NE IL. However, whatever chance you or I assign it....1%, .05%...whatever, years of buying experience tells me there is even LESS likelihood that input prices will shrink if commodity prices do in fact. That's the biggest risk I think. The risk of having $3 corn again & $550 NH3 & you-know-what for rents. |
