If we see $2 wheat and $1.40 corn again, there is going to be a lot worse problems in this country than worrying about cheap commodity prices and high input costs. Kind of like if $5000 land dropped to a $1000 per acre. Not saying these things couldn't happen, but highly unlikely unless the whole economy goes kaput.
Imo the problem is going to be when Nh3 is a $1000 per ton, Dap $1000 per ton , potash $600 per ton , seed corn $400 per bag, and land rents of $300 plus. Then when some fly in the oinment comes along and a person sells 175 bu corn per acre for $2.75 per bu. This is the type of situation that is prolly more likely. | |
