Not necessarily. Sometimes, especially when income tax considerations are brought in, it makes perfect economic sense to own items for a short while. A very successful farmer in our area who will have his retirement farm auction later this fall bought a brand new JD96660STS just before wheat harvest this year, intending to use it only for wheat and some fall crops. He'll sell it at his farm auction and I believe he is doing the right thing economically. Building refurbishing might be a little tougher, especially sole-purpose buildings like the dairy parlor I noted in a previous post.
