Eastern Iowa | People unwilling to accept the responsibilities of land ownership shouldn't buy land. In my book, fence is part of that, unless BOTH landowners have an agreement to do without. If circumstances change, the agreement for both parties change, since ownership of a property boundary is the responsibility of both parties.
Around here, nobody has any problem with it. But areas where there is a mix of cattle operations and crop exclusive farms it is a bigger issue, mostly because guys who don't own animals don't want to have the expense because they don't believe it benefits them. That's pretty short sighted, even if only from the standpoint of neighbor relations. | |
