Badger - 2/1/2011 23:40 If you have a better spot to build , build there. Live in the old house while building. Maybe build up a mound where the new house will go to keep POSITIVE DRAINGE. Always think POSITIVE DRAINAGE. Build where the water runs away from. I don't think you can build a house too high. (within reason) Basement floor above grade has less water problems. I like the way you think. My basement had water in it twice this summer. If I ever build a new house I'll guarantee I'll never get water in the basement. If it does then we've got bigger problems. |
