| We remodeled our house back in the mid 60s. My Dad always told me after that dont ever do that just put up new. A new basement an an addition were added at that time. Pity my poor Mom who had to put up with all the noise the carpenters were making while working on the addition trying to live in the house at the same time with a little one in the house me 3 yrs old at the time. About ten years later we remodeled the kitchen. New houses arnt cheap but at least everything is new. Plumbing an wirng included. Any more its so easy spend as much money on an old one as a new one. Look at all the cost involved before you make a commitmnet. I notice alder people dont remodel they just put up new. They live in much better houses now when the family is all growed up an gone. A young friend off mine put up a new house when he was twenty years old an starting a family. Thats the best thing he ever did. Now with two kids he has a nice house to raise them in. | |
