NC Iowa | what is the cost of as private adoption? i would guess maybe $10,000+ in legal fees, agency fees, and others. i'm sure there are some birth mom trying to do a 'shake down', and may end up with something personally. the ones that just want to do what is right for their baby can feel very empty after the fact. they were in the lime light when they had something to offer, and now after they were 'used', and everyone made money off of them, they have nothing to show. they should have an advovate to look after their intertest, as they are usually young and not used to making these kinds of major life decisions.
