| Yes, and Colorado is a mandatory brand state. No brand or proof of ownership, no sale. Same thing just different way of accomplishing it.
Some people ask "But whats to keep somebody from stealing cattle and putting their brand on it."
Well, same thing that keeps somebody from stealing cattle and cutting out the RFID tag and putting their own in I guess. But at least my brand is always on that animal.
I just don't see why the wheel needs to be reinvented when we already have a system that has worked quite well for over 100 years.
