As other's have said, "turn on the lights", keep your off-farm job, and learn EVERYTHING you possibly can learn about the farm, and,,, teach yourself all facets of the Financials, marketing, etc.. of farming.   You can make a very valuable contribution to the farm operation being the sharpest nail on the farm about the business aspects of farming. 

As other's said too. get the credit card(s) paid off asap. Then only use them as "needed" and wisely.  (In some situations,,many from what I've read,,,  canceling the cards is considered "high risk" and actually hurts your credit rating...
