The dollar used to be sought as the worldwide storage of value as well as trade. The dollar is getting to be less and less reliable and relevant on a worldwide basis. So anything's value expressed in dollars might start to do historically abnormal things. Keep it relative. How many bushels of corn to buy land? How many gallons of fuel? How many lbs of ground beef or cans of green beans?
People start to do weird things when return of principle is in question, let alone an ROI. Look at the Chinese buying US land. Why don't they buy China land? It may not be as nefarious as the news headlines or farm bureau suggests. | |
