Exercise and physical activity has many health benefits. It is a very, VERY, minor part of weight loss.
Lots of physical activity burns a few calories. It also makes a person very hungry.
Hunger in the long run always wins. In the short run willpower can prevail. But in the long run, presuming food is readily available, hunger always will win.
To control bodily weight, hunger has to be accounted for and dealt with.
