Subject: RE: Bedding Cows During Winter?

Driftless SW Wisconsin
My cows seem to find a protected (from the wind) place in the woods and lie down there. Body heat melts the snow and they have a bed of old leaves under them.

They'll move these spots as I move the hay feeder along the edge of the woods. I'll give the track loader a try this afternoon although the current temperature of 17 f is supposed to be the high for the day as we drop to -8 f tonight and colder for the next few days.

Time to plug in the loader and tractor. Thanks to our very good REC and township plow drivers.
