Subject: RE: Bedding Cows During Winter?

Wheelersburg and Lancaster, Ohio
I used to feed bales and silage on pasture. Ended up with several acres of mud every year. Once I went to just hay and lots of bedding in a designated area I see my cows laying down a ton more than I ever did before. Not sure that’s good or bad. I only have mud around the edges of a small half acre area now. Seems like cows laying on bedding and not having to walk though mud every day eat a lot less hay.
