Subject: RE: 60" rows and ear corn

Leesburg, Ohio
60" corn rows and extremely low populations sounds like a lot of trouble to get a low-yielding, weedy mess.
How can you harvest ear corn earlier than shelled corn?
We always waiting until after we were done shelling to start picking ear corn, because we figured cribbing ear corn had to be 18% or lower so it would keep.
Always easier to get more bottom line (profit) when you start with more top line (yield).
