Subject: RE: 60" rows and ear corn-hurt my feelings-old feller from picking

Northeast Missouri
Garvo, I like all of what you say except that the interseeding might not work many years...establishment may be hit or miss. And even if I got something established 35 days ahead of dry corn, how much green forage could I grow? Not much I'd think. Rye might be something by frost, maybe oats? Or early enough, maybe turnips or forage radish?

The advantage of already-established plants in 60-inch corn should be much better fall growth before and after the corn comes off.
