Subject: RE: 60" rows and ear corn

SE SD

being an ear picker my self, I have to agree with others on weed pressure. It would also be miserable picking one row at a time. A three row would snag
two rows , and also trample a lot of that cover/forage. MO about 20% moister is Ideal to crib, to much drier it shells fairly easy. But I digress, you
have cows on clean up duty :)
I'm in the camp of splitting the field and you can leave your drill intact. Splitting the field leaves you options. maybe graze early while corn finishes.
Combine corn, bale/chop cover.   I would just hate to commit to a one action plan.
interesting concept with 60" rows....keep us posted on your results.
good Luck!
