It's just like common core math. Dumb it down so everyone is equal.

I used to think that too, until I was talking to grandpa about it one day. He said the way they teach addition in common core going left to right is the way he learned to do it in a one room school house when he was in grade school, except they were taught to do it that way in their head without writing it down. He thought some of the stuff that I was taught how to do in school was pretty dumbed down compared to what he was taught. If they go back to how I was taught for my grandkids, my kids will think they dumbed it down with this “new” math. |
