NW Iowa | When our kids messed up a clean house, I made them and me, clean it up. After a meal, everyone scraped their plates and put them in the dishwasher. We all put our own clothes away, they had to make their beds. Hang up your coat when you come in. Put your shoes out of way. Mittens wet, put them on a heat register. Teach the kids from the beginning that they are not guests in our home, they are members of a family and Mom doesn’t work for us. Mom was happy. We were all happy.
When our kids went to college, their first comments were how piggish other kids lived. | |
