East of Broken Bow | I tried.
I offered to make one meal a week if I wasn't swamped with fieldwork.
After a few weeks of eating my cooking, my wife said she'd rather cook.
SO, I started putting the dishes in the dishwasher. After a few days of re-arranging everything that I put in there, she said she could do it herself just as fast (in my defense, the dishes I put in got just as clean, but it seems that there would always be one cup or plate that didn't fit, so I left it for the next load. My wife was determined to get everything in one load, even if that meant taking an extra 20 minutes of re-arranging to get that cup to fit).
So, we reached a happy compromise. I put dirty dishes in the sink, to get the table cleared off (but I don't wipre the table off because she has to come behind and do it again) and once a week, we go out to eat, so she gets a day off. Nothing fancy, just someplace that has decent food that she doesn't have to cook and plates she doesn't have to wash is good enough most of the time. | |
