Southern MN | I agree with your statement that it is ultimately not the bankers and lenders fault for the drop in prices, rising rates, etc. but they also have to manage their own portfolio, manage the personality type of the borrower, etc. to mitigate situations like this. To the point where sometimes they have to say NO to a loan even when they know the long term borrower will walk down the street and get the loan anyway from somewhere else. Some producers are just not financially astute enough to recognize when to pump the brakes.
