Reas the other thread too. This scenario apparently played out in the past. This thread was 5 years after the last thread, not today.

I get that. I’m asking where has land drifted lower in the last 5 years? Seems like revisionist history.


Five years ago would have been 2017? This chart is a few months old, but I haven't heard anyone talking about Iowa or Illinois farmland dropping much in the last twelve months.

Even if a guy paid near the 2013 high, he should be able to sell that land today for at least as much as he paid for it. That would get him back into positive working capital and reduced debt payments going forward. May not fix everything, but at least gets his neck above water for a year.
