Back in 2001 we had our house moved 100', dug a basement and put the house back on. All of this stuff, I couldn't do myself. We had less than $25k in all of that. And then the fun started. We are glad we remodel but I would not do it again! The "bones" were in good condition that is why we went this way. If you decide to remodel and live in the house, you MUST have a good marriage to start with!
