Subject: RE: Building house or remodel questions? if rebuild is the plan,,

Kittitas Co. Wa. State

and you have the 'room' somewhere close,,  Go find a single or double wide to "live in" while you're remodeling the house.   Then soon as the house IS rebuilt you can sell off the "trailer house"...  Many times, "moving stuff" around used to "live" takes up more time than the specific task involves..

One other thing to consider if you're going to be active in the building process.   Closer to the "job" the better, and the more you will do.  It is A LOT easier to step outside and start working on the new house than driving miles to get to the "job"...   Lot of times, 3-5 hours,, "ah,, it's only "3" hours and I'll spend 1/2 hour just driving back and forth",,,, will kill more productivity than a person can imagine !!

Far as the moisture in the basment that is just a poor planed setup.  How is the overall grade away from the House??   House can be jacked up a well built basement poured,, and proper drains away from house is not insurmountable. Only real price difference is jacking up the house and possible conflicts with house sitting there while new basement is build.
