This system has the heater core in the AQS box along with the evaporator. Try shutting the heater hoses off with some vice grips and see it the A/C works. There are some air doors inside the AQS that might not be closing properly or possibly the heater valve is leaking or the heater hoses are connected backwards. The AQS box is known to leak also. I have had to remove the air filter and light a smoke bomb inside the AQS box. You can find most of the leaks from the smoke leaking at the seams. Then you can seal up the leaks. I would bet your problem is with the heater valve not shutting off completely.
