Sounds to me like it is overcharged and is flooding the evaporator with liquid refrigerant, I wonder too if the orifice tube isn't in backwards or damaged, this system is different than any other system that deere used in that it doesn't have an expansion valve, it is a CCOT (Clutch Cycling Orifice Tube) system which is the same system that GM used for many years. I had problems with the clutch cycling switch on a couple different GM trucks that I had and the system would work great and then suddenly you were cooking, go tap on the switch and the compressor would start running and cooling again.
