CENTRAL ILLINIOS | We have an 8970 with 6000 hours and the A/C works just fine. Service manager talked to me once about the evaporator getting plugged with dirt. It draws return air through a hole in the front of the cab just in front of the brake pedal. He said some of the early ones had a foam filter in that passage way but mine does not. He also talked about using a brush tied to a stick to slip in and clean the coils. Now that I think about it that passage may be in front of the fuse panel because that is what I was working on at the time. Also have heard of the evaporator freezing up in a solid block of ice under some conditions. | |
