Subject: Im on the fence on this one

Renville Minnesota

5 years ago we ripped out the old cement in our old shop and put in in floor heat with electric boilers.

Pro's = nice even heat and very comfortable when on a creeper.

Cons = if ya have cold blooded people working with you, the'll want it warmer, and you sit there sweating = that sucks cuz it takes forever to warm up and forever to cool down.

Our new shop (attatched by a 15 x 15 walk way) has the tubes in the floor, but because of the time we poured and finished our shop (lots uv sweat equity) we put some propane throwers up top.   Its been two winters of trying to figure out if we should hook electric, waste oil, wood, geothermal etc up to the floor tubes.  So far were thinking we wasted money putting tubes in the floor of the new shop cuz everybody likes the propane burners as much as the old shop.   I was an adimate in floor guy, but after having the two shops together, and walking between them 10 times a day, my garage im putting up this summer wont have floor heat.

Propane was purty cheap this past year here.  Just bought a load for 78 cents a couple weeks ago.

Take it for what its worth, youll like whatever you do, as long as your warm in the winter!

Good luck
