An eighteen wheeler hung up on the Union Pacific main line at the railroad crossing in Pine Bluffs, WY sometime in the last week or two. The driver tried to shake it loose but jumped clear before a train totalled the tractor and trailer. The news story I saw didn't show if he was pulling a lowboy, pot or ?? I would not be surprised if insurance company, highway department, and UP lawyers discuss why the highway backgrade was not raised appropriately when the tracks were raised. I've ran into the problem of making a sharp turn pulling up a steep hill. Darkness and unfamiliar fields had me in trouble, spinning the highside drivers; sometimes you just cannot get up enough speed. Rosco, THANKS for sharing! I'm very interested in the equipment used to plant and harvest small grains in Europe, especially planting equipment set up for narrow (3-4") rows. |
