Subject: gates

Galahad, Alberta
I went to New Zealand years ago and stayed on a friend's farm for a week. He raised sheep, but took me to the farm of a neighbour who did a lot of custom work and had a complete line of grain equipment. I also commented on the small headers on what looked to be a good sized machine, and he told me that a lot of the fields that he custom combined had small gates that he had to fit through. I said "why not move the posts?" He laughed and said the gate posts were usually rock and mortar pillars! I said that I would be getting a blade and "shift" them! He looked at me like I had said something dirty about his mom! So I guess that he can run his "4 meter" heads for a while!
