We will never reach "peak steel", because iron is a very common element in the crust of the earth. The molten core of the earth is mostly iron. I also don't believe in "peak oil", for what its worth. The Russians have long abandoned the theory that crude oil has an organic origin, but instead forms from inorganic processes deep inside the earth, in essence, a renewable resource.
